This sculpture is the first piece in my undergraduate thesis project, BeingZ, which dissects South Asian Gen Z through past generations. The particular sculpture juxtaposes a modern phone with its individual components—objects that once existed independently in various forms but are now condensed into a single, utility-driven device. This piece aims to reflect the metaphorical and literal weight a phone carries in today’s world.

This piece is part of my undergraduate thesis project, BeingZ, which dissects South Asian Gen Z through past generations. Adding on to the sculpture (see previous post)The particular video art unit juxtaposes a modern phone with its individual components. the sculpture is 40 kg while the phone is a mere 120 grams. This piece aims to reflect the metaphorical and literal weight a phone carries in today’s world.

The One Sided Conversation Booth

The booth is an experiential installation where visitors step inside, listen to a telephone, and confront the reality of how generational conversations have often been one-sided. The aim is simple: to end the monologue and start the dialogue.
Accompanied by a call transcript and a window with a tagline, turned into a hashtag, With thousands of impressions, both in-person and online, the purpose has been successfully delivered.
